Status of Implementation of common minimum programme for qualitative improvement  in primary section


A committee is constituted for proper Implementation of common minimum programme for qualitative improvement  in primary section. The members of the committee are:

Monthly CMP fund of Rs. 2000 is spent for purchasing and developing TLM. Additionally 25% of the VVN is utilized for development of CMP in the primary section. Record of expenditure made is maintained and verified by the HM and counter verified by the principal.


As per the guidelines given by KVS for the implementation of the common minimum programme for qualitative improvement of primary education, a Resource room is developed in the Vidyalaya and is well equipped with the following items.

1.     LCD Projector

2.     Colour TV – 29” with Cable connection

3.     Two desk top computer with Internet connection, one in the HMs room.

4.     White Board & Colour marker Pens

5.     Soft board

6.     Geo board - plastic

7.     Almirahs for keeping teaching- learning materials, T-Aids, CDs and DVDs

8.     Log books for maintaining issue, use & development of TLM, T-Aids, CAL-TAL and Film Show and e-learning.

9.      Three LCD  Projectors with ipad in classes III A /IV A/ V C  installed.

A heavy duty copier and a desk top computer with printer is kept in the HM’s room. One desk top computer is kept in the staffroom for downloading, browsing and development of the contents by the teachers. 


A set of 100 books liked by children are issued to the class teachers. These books include fictions, educational comics, educational games and puzzles, children stories like Amar chitra katha series, Panchanthatra, Hitopadesh, folk tales, children magazines, children encyclopedia, general knowledge books, story books of Ramayana, Mahabharat, etc. depicting characters from history and scriptures.

Hanging library is arranged in every class room with magazines and Short story books donated by children. Books are issued for taking home from class III onwards.

Children are encouraged to read and exchange books among themselves. They maintain a record of books read by them in the school diary/library cards. They write the review of the story book read by them. Book review is read out in the assembly. Book week is celebrated, book Fair / exhibition is organized  through publishers and distributors at school level.


Time table is framed keeping in mind child centered activities. Two teacher system is followed in class I & II, three teacher in class III and four teacher in class V.

Two Block periods are allotted for all subjects to conduct activities. And also for library, computer, games & CCA.

CAL/TAL/e-learning is implemented in the time table with minimum of one block period for every subject for all classes.

For Film shows one block period of  the co- scholastic period is allotted.

V         CCA

To nurture the talents of primary students various co – curricular activities through Houses are conducted throughout the year. Every Friday primary students present the assembly programme during common prayer. Various national and regional festivals are celebrated in the school. Best performers are selected to participate in the cluster level CCA Competitions. Bal Divas is celebrated on 14th November every year.


Sports and games are conducted class wise at the vidyalaya level. Each class a minimum of four events are conducted and prizes are given for the first three positions during sports day celebration.

Cluster level sports events are held in one of the cluster schools. The winners of the Vidyalaya level sports events are selected to represent the vidyalaya at the cluster level meet.

SBSB activities were taken up with equipments and report card maintained


Education Tour is arranged for all the primary students. Children of class I & II visit local places and classes III to V visit places with in a distance of 50 to 100 KM. No place is repeated in 5 years for the same class.

Field trips are arranged within the school campus and nearby localities like labs, garden, parks, post offices, bank, hospitals, fields, etc. Field craftsmen demonstrate paper cutting, drawing magic and various craft works.

Students get a first hand experience and learn a lot of things by observing the demonstrations. 


Film shows are organized once in a month for all classes during the co scholastic block periods. Films on documentary of educational values, moral stories, animal and plant kingdom, cartoon films, and films on great personalities are shown after categorizing the films class wise, so that the films are not repeated. The teacher briefs the child about the films in advance to create interest and curiosity.

Children enjoy the film shows and they narrate their experiences and note the details about the films like date, title, characters and moral values in their school dairy or library notebooks.


To promote creativity and innovation among the students and teachers a news letter is published. Children and teachers send articles, drawing, information, etc. to the cluster level and regional level news letter. A manuscript magazine is also prepared by every class once in a year. A copy of the news letter and magazine is sent to all the cluster schools, regional office, to the contributors and to the students to motivate them to contribute articles and make them aware of the events taking place in other Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Community lunch is arranged in all classes under the supervision of the class teachers. This helps the children to cultivate the habit of caring and sharing and to know diverse food habits and also taste the food of different parts of the country.

XI        PTA

Regular parent teacher meetings are held to apprise the parents of the children’s’ progress and activities going on in school elaborating B2B, CMP Programmes, CCE, vidyalaya level and cluster level competitions, etc. and  to listen to the grievances of the parents and also  welcome their suggestions and participation in the school activities.


To inculcate the importance and care of family relationships and to develop a sense of responsibility, respect for elders in the family and sense of regard towards senior citizens, Grandparent’s day is celebrated in the vidyalaya. A large number of grandparents attend the function, they enjoy the special attention given to them and they are thrilled seeing their grand children at school. Many programmes are organized like group song, skit, dances and speeches to honour them. They express their gratitude to the school for conducting such events which bring ethical values in children.


Students of class III to class V are encourage to join this movement and good number of students are recruited in this movement and are provided with free scarf, belt, cap, woggle, etc. to encourage them to join in more numbers. A plan of activities for the whole year is prepared and executed during the weekly meetings, cubs and bulbuls camps are conducted in the school and one day UTSAV is celebrated at school level. Thrithiya charan & komal Pankh testing camp was conducted in December.


Club activities are undertaken on Thursdays the three clubs formed viz.the nature /eco club the literary club and the arts and crafts club. Primary students from the classes III to V are the members of these clubs. They carry out activities pertaining to these clubs. The clubs provide the platform for creative expressions and the nurturing of social and environmental responsibilities. Now it is combined with Funday.


Every Saturday is made a working day. It converted into a no bag day and is celebrated as Fun day.Various activities are conducted like CCA Activities, Club Activities, Sports Activities and Skill development Activities. A time table is framed and in rotation all activities are covered for all classes form I to  V.
